Op/Ed: Instead of helping families after child abuse, Indiana moves focus to prevention

Child abuse and neglect fatalities are a tragic reality that many communities face and there is a shift from merely responding to such incidents to actively working on preventing them. By identifying risk factors that contribute to child fatalities and then investing in resources to support families beforehand, they are shifting the focus towards prevention. The Child Safety Forward (CSF) initiative is a clear example of how taking a proactive approach can help reduce child fatalities.
