Drs. Susana Mariscal and Bryan Victor, faculty members at the IU School of Social Work, have begun a project that shifts the focus from detect-and-respond to prevention in child welfare. With the support of IUSSW’s leadership in child welfare advocacy, they developed a grant proposal for the Strengthening Indiana Families (SIF) project, which aims to provide strength-based, community-engaged training and resources to families in four Indiana counties with high rates of foster care entry.
